Lisa earned her Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder Colorado in 2003.
This four-year program consists of 3,000+ hours of education including 1,000 hours of clinical practice. There were also numerous opportunities for externships, and Lisa enjoyed taking advantage of all of them. She worked at Boulder County Aids Project, Longmont Hospital’s Oncology unit, and Golden West Retirement Community.
She was awarded a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in September 2003. This includes certification in Clean Needle Technique and Chinese Herbology, in addition to Acupuncture.
It also includes adjunctive therapies such as moxibustion (heat therapy), tui na (Chinese massage), gua sha (friction therapy), acupressure, cupping, auriculotherapy, and dietary and lifestyle recommendations.
Since graduating from SWAC, Lisa has enjoyed maintaining a private practice, as well as operating as co-owner of Olde Town Acupuncture & Wellness Center in Arvada, a community clinic that over seven years served thousands of patients, many of whom were low-income.
Lisa has studied and mentored with renowned TCM and fertility expert, Randine Lewis, PhD, the author of The Infertility Cure, and founder of The Fertile Soul program for women and couples seeking fertility assistance.
She has also completed the NCCAOM approved Treatment of Infertility Course with world renowned Doctor of Chinese Medicine, teacher, and author, Jane Lyttleton in 2008, and is a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Medicine (ABORM).
She is a licensed Acupuncturist in Colorado, NCCAOM Nationally Board Certified, and an active member of the Acupuncture Association of Colorado (AAC).
Now located inside A Touch for Wellness in Arvada, Lisa’s passion remains to empower her clients to be active participants in restoring health and wholeness and regaining joy in living.
When not performing acupuncture or thinking about or studying acupuncture (because she is in love with Chinese Medicine!), Lisa gets to spend time with her family, including her best friend/husband, her mom, her three daughters, and her 6 grandchildren. She is an enthusiastic hiker, and loves learning languages and traveling.
